The Globeleq Educational Trust, established in 2016, plays a role in advancing black economic empowerment and educational advancement/opportunities in South Africa.
Our approach is focused on providing financial aid in the form of bursaries, with an emphasis on supporting women and students enrolled in renewable energy and STEM fields, aiming to bridge gender gaps and enhance the industry’s talent pool. This commitment not only promotes B-BBEE and gender equality but also contributes to the broader goals of economic development and sustainability.

About the Trust
Established in 2016 by Globeleq South Africa Management Services (Pty) Ltd, the Globeleq Educational Trust is devoted to the upliftment of South African communities through education, championing black economic empowerment in accordance with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Act.
Our Trust directly benefits black South African youth, prioritising women and those studying in renewable energy and STEM fields to promote gender equality and support the industry’s need for skilled professionals.
In essence, our Trust is dedicated to nurturing the next generation, using education as a tool for lasting and impactful change.

Tasneem Edwards
Tasneem Edwards is a registered chartered accountant. She was responsible for setting up the Trust as an operating entity and continues to ensure it operates smoothly and efficiently

Matt McLagan
Chartered Accountant, Matt McLagan fulfils the role of Financial Manager at Globeleq South Africa Management Services. His role includes collating budget reports, preparing cost centre reports for the various assets, contributing to the company’s annual strategy from a financial point of view, liaising with auditors, preparing recons and preparing information for BEE & ED reporting, amongst other tasks.

Hlengiwe Radebe
Hlengiwe Radebe is the Director of Economic Development at Globeleq South Africa Management Services and leads the Economic Development team that looks after all community development and stakeholder engagement across the group.

Nokwanda Siyengo
Nokwanda Siyengo manages the Stellenbosch University (SU) SciMathUS university preparation programme, which gives students a second chance to qualify and enrol for their preferred academic programmes. Nokwanda has a broad knowledge of the education sector and an extensive understanding of the constant changes occurring in education, not only nationally, but internationally as well.
